| Group Study |

Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends!

Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

1 | speed limit

For many of us, learning to drive and getting that first car was a "right of passage."  Thankfully we have men and women in blue enforcing traffic laws, making driving safer for everyone.
What's your favorite "getting pulled over" or interaction with a police officer story?

2 | watch and see

Pastor Jim uses the story of Red Jacket to illustrate that people are watching.

Many people in our society have taken the same "wait and see" approach.  They are waiting for some tangible reason to become a Christian.  They are waiting to see if Christians can even get along with each other.  How do you think we're doing in this department?  How are you doing in this department?  (how do you treat your Christian brothers and sisters)

scripture: 1 John 4:7-8, 1 Peter 4:8-10

3 | what are you known for?

Looking at pictures of famous people and calling out the adjectives they are known for is pretty easy.  In fact, you can probably look around the room and use some adjectives to describe each person in your group.  (keep it positive folks)

But, what about you?  If someone were to describe you with only one adjective - what would most people say?  Is it what you want to be known for?

scripture: Proverbs 22:1, 1 Peter 2:12

4 | hunky dory?

We've all gone through hard times, we've all endured hardships that we wish wouldn't have come our way.  In those moments, it can be easy to justify bad or unfaithful behavior.  Most people will give us a "free pass" because of the situation.  But what opportunities are we missing?

When we are suffering, how should a Christian behave?  Why is it important to not cave into the negative behavior?

scripture: James 1:2-4, Isaiah 43:2, 1 Peter 4:12-16
