Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends!

Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

1 | movie scenes

Pastor Jim recreates the silly scene from RocketMan to drive home a spiritual point: God has the whole world in his hands. Next time, we hope he'll do the silly voices too!
Get to know each other a little bit: What's your all time favorite movie scene with a spiritual point?  Bonus points for acting it out.

2 | disasters and PROPHECIES

The headlines sound daunting.  Many Christians declare all this as the fulfillment of prophecy.  Others aren't so sure.

What do you think?  Are the headlines the clear fulfillment of prophecy, pointing to Christ's imminent return?  Or, is the "increase" in disasters merely a product of sensational media outlets?  How much attention should a Christian give to prophecies of such grand proportions?

scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4Amos 3:7, Mark 13:5-8

3 | coming soon

If you knew beyond a doubt that Christ's return was imminent.  Scripturally, we know this can't happen - but let's pretend for a minute.  If you know that Christ will return on Tuesday and the End of Days is upon us - what would you do differently?

scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:4-11, 2 Peter 3:10-11

4 | the hope

As Christians, we are called to walk differently than the rest of the world.  Scripture says that we are "a peculiar people," "set apart," and "not of this world."

Even in the midst of trials, disasters, and disappointments;  the hope in a Christian's heart remains clear and focused.  How do you explain that hope?  What is it, and what does it mean to you?

scripture: 1 Peter 3:15, Romans 8:22-25
