A Healthy Soul

| Group Study |

Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends! Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

1 | a contented soul

We live in an amazingly blessed country, one of the richest and most affluent countries in history.  So with this being the case, why is it difficult to be content?

  • Do you believe it is harder to be content when you have more?
  • Why must we strive to be content in all circumstances? (See Philippians)

Scripture: Psalm 131:2, Philippians 4:11-13

2 | a peaceful soul

God has called us to be at peace even while living in a tumultuous world.  What is it about being a follower of Jesus Christ that gives us the opportunity to live in total peace?

  • With the world distracting us, what is it that can keep us focused on the peace Christ gives us throughout our day?

Scripture: Psalm 4:8

3 | an optimistic soul

Optimism is a conscious decision.  We are constantly hit with negative news and outlooks on our world that would lean us to pessimistic viewpoints, but that is not what God desires.  How can we keep ourselves optimistic in our day-to-day lives and pass that optimism on to others?

  • By now, you hopefully know what your project will be for your small group, if need be, wrap your time up planning with your leaders.

Scripture: Psalm 27:1-3
